Justin Hood is one of the breakout stars of the 2026 PDC World Darts Championship, capturing the imagination of fans with his fearless play, infectious personality, and record-breaking finishing under pressure.

After years grinding through the WDF, BDO and Challenge Tour circuits, Hood’s career reached a defining moment in 2025 when he secured his first-ever PDC Tour Card at Q-School, a gamble that paid off in spectacular fashion. Less than a year later, he lit up the Alexandra Palace stage on his World Championship debut.

Hood announced himself to the world by defeating Nick Kenny in round one before producing one of the matches of the tournament against seventh seed Danny Noppert, winning a dramatic sudden-death leg after both players averaged over 102. He followed that up with a composed victory over Ryan Meikle to reach the last 16.

His fourth-round performance against Josh Rock was historic. Hood recorded a new PDC World Championship record, hitting 11 consecutive doubles without a miss, completing a dominant 4–0 victory and earning cult-hero status at Ally Pally. The run guaranteed him at least £100,000 in prize money and secured his place in the quarter-finals against two-time world champion Gary Anderson.

Despite being one of the shortest players on tour, Hood has one of the biggest personalities, combining a relaxed, confident stage presence with total belief in his ability. Having worked as a night porter until late 2024, his rise is a testament to persistence, self-belief, and commitment — particularly after dramatically increasing his practice hours in the weeks leading up to the World Championship.
